What Youll Do:
- Prescribe medications in line with standard care, seeking approval for exceptions.
- Obtain informed consent or judicial authorization for treatment.
- Monitor and address medication side effects; report adverse reactions.
- Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Involve CSB and family in discharge planning when possible.
- Ensure timely patient discharge progress.
- Arrange coverage and complete documentation before time off.
- Participate in on-call coverage, ensuring timely treatment and documentation.
- Lead the treatment team, ensuring collaboration across disciplines.
- Monitor and reduce seclusion/restraint use; follow hospital policies.
- Participate in performance improvement projects and committees.
- Maintain VA medical license and DEA registration, complete CME credits.
- Attend at least 50% of Med Staff and committee meetings.
- Complete annual mandatory training and adhere to hospital policies.
- Provide preceptorship to students and residents as needed.
- Support EHR transition, including testing, training, and rollout.
- Assist in developing EHR-related policies and procedures.
- Lead EHR training sessions for staff and new hires.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current VA Medical License and DEA Registration.
- Commitment to leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Experience in psychiatric treatment and patient care management.
- Strong communication and training skills, especially with EHR systems.
