Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at SRMC-Med Surg 1st Floor. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing direct nursing care to patients, leading clinical teams, and promoting a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Lead clinical teams and assume relief charge duties as designated.
- Serve as a role model to promote quality patient care and a positive work environment.
- Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in educational programs, attend meetings and workshops, and stay up-to-date with current literature to enhance professional growth and development.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses in a timely manner.
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, administer medication, and perform special tests and procedures as required.
Qualifications
Education:
- Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate (essential)
- Bachelor's Degree (non-essential)
Experience:
- No minimum experience required (essential)
Credentials:
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days (essential)
- RN in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by New Mexico (essential)
Working Conditions
The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams. The position requires heavy physical exertion, lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
