Lead Cook Job Summary
Our restaurant is looking for an experienced chef to serve as the Lead Cook in our kitchen. You will oversee the kitchen staff and make sure that the restaurant runs smoothly through each service. Throughout your shift, you will delegate tasks to staff, from food preparation to wiping down the work surfaces with disinfectant after service. Our ideal applicant has a culinary degree or extensive professional chef experience in fine dining, superb knife skills, and a food handler's card.
Lead Cook Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee food preparation in the restaurant
- Help coordinate kitchen staff schedules
- Stock work stations with supplies and tools
- Delegate cleaning and preparation tasks
- Train and evaluate BOH staff members
Lead Cook Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree in culinary arts preferred
- 5 years of professional cooking experience
- Experience in lower-level kitchen positions
- Food handler's card
