Ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans, maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dishwashing area, and supporting the kitchen team in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in their respective storage areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area
- Empty and clean trash receptacles
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals and cleaning supplies
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and inform the manager of any shortages
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed
- Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or head chef
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience as a dishwasher in a high-volume restaurant
- Basic knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness standards
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs
- Must be able to perform repetitive bending, stopping, twisting, and lifting of products and supplies
