General Description of the Position
The Division of Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (PEMaCS) - Mathematical Sciences at Delaware State University (DSU) seeks applicants for a lecturer.
Mathematical Sciences offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Mathematics with Data Analysis, and Mathematics Education; master degrees in Mathematics; and PHD in Interdisciplinary applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics. Delaware State University, a historically black university with a diverse faculty and student body, has a student population of approximately 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. DSU is located in Dover, Delaware and has campuses, in Wilmington, Delaware and Georgetown, Delaware.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following are the function essential to performing this job:
  1. Teach (on campus) undergraduate mathematics education, mathematics and/or statistics courses
  2. make contributions to program development and teaching activities in the Department
  3. Supervise Student Teachers and Adjuncts
  4. Serve the Department, College and University on Committees and in other roles
  5. Evidence of the ability to effectively teach students of varying abilities
  6. Effective communication skills
  7. Experience with student diversity
Qualification Standards
Qualified applicants must have a M.S., or Ed.D., or Ph.D. in Mathematics Education, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
