Description Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the Assistant Professor of Mathematics position. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position, with the potential for tenure track, beginning August 11, 2025, located at the VU Main Campus.
Duties and Responsibilities - Teaching undergraduate lecture courses in primarily freshmen and sophomore mathematics courses. Other courses may include: abstract math; geometries; probability & statistics; analysis; linear algebra; and abstract algebra as needed.
- Serve as an academic advisor and participate in related student success activities.
- Maintain regular office hours.
- Participating in departmental academic assessment projects.
- Assisting with other departmental/college activities, including course assessment, Science Fridays, and recruitment/retention activities.
- Participating in service, including serving on departmental, college, and university committees.
Required and Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, or a Master degree in a related field, with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using course management software such as BlackBoard or Canvas
- Ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels.
- Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and administration
