Security Officer
Description
SAIL at Ferncliff Manor, private, residential school for children with developmental disabilities, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Officer. The Security Officer position is a hands-on role.
Starting Houyrly Rate $17.50
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor grounds/buildings, and main entrance to ensure only authorized personnel access buildings/grounds.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms.
• Maintain a visitor log of all visitors/vendors/contractors. Issue passes once screened.
• Prevents unauthorized persons from entering the building.
• Answer phones and routes calls as appropriate.
• Implement emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Assist in the evacuation of the residents during fire drills or other emergencies.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency personnel as required.

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must possess Valid/Current New York State Security Guard license.
• Valid/Current Motor Vehicle Driver's License. (Preferred)
• Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner.
• Valid/Current American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid certification.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Ability to handle emergencies in a professional manner.
• On call- flexibility a must for various shifts and schedules.
• Position requires day, afternoon & overnight shift as well as weekends, and holidays.
• Maintains standard of high quality work.
• Maintains high quality productivity.
• Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making.
• Prior experience as Security Officer.
