Layout Design Engineer

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation:
$40.00-42.00 per hour
Overview
Our client has their roots in the design/build of automated machinery and through the years have expanded into providing their customers with complete Smart Factory solutions.
As part of the projects team, you will design and optimize factory layouts and workflows for manufacturing & Smart Factory solutions. You will have a strong background in engineering design, spatial planning, and process optimization, ensuring facilities are designed for maximum efficiency, safety, and scalability.
Responsibilities:
\tDevelop and design detailed layout plans for manufacturing facilities and equipment.
\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and operations, to gather requirements and incorporate feedback into layout designs.
\tUtilize AutoCAD & SolidWorks to create precise and functional layouts.
\tConduct spatial analyses to optimize material flow, equipment placement, and worker safety.
\tPerform feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate layout designs.
\tEnsure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
\tSupport project management teams with layout documentation, cost estimation, and timelines.
\tWork closely with vendors and suppliers to evaluate equipment specifications and space requirements.
Qualifications:
\tBachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related
\t3+ years of experience in layout design, industrial facility planning, or industrial engineering.
\tProficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD (preferred), will consider Inventor or Creo.
\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\tKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and workflow optimization.
\tExcellent communication and teamwork skills.
\tFamiliarity with manufacturing environments, industrial equipment, and safety standards required.

\t\tExperience in laser technology or advanced manufacturing environments.
\t\tKnowledge of ERP systems and project management software.
\t\tCertification in Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies
