Required Certifications NIHSS, ACLS, BLS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients Pneumonia, ARDS, Covid-19 infection, HTN Urgency, Angina, cardiac cath patients, ETOH Withdrawal
Experience or 'Must have' skills PCU experience
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, Dobutamine
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Yes 24/7 charge nurse and House Sup from 1100- 0730 weekdays and 24/7 on weekends
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios yes 1:8-10
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) CPAP, BIPAP, HIGH FLOW OXYGEN
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor techs? RNs read strips? REMOTE MONITOR TECHS WITH RN APPROVAL
Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour shifts 06-1830 and 1800-0630
Weekend Requirement every other
Holiday Requirement yes, 2 of the winter holidays
Is there a call or standby requirement? standby possible if we have extra staff only
