Job Description
Overview:
A Data Modeler with a primary focus of this position is to provide architectural guidance and technological recommendations that support the Data Modeling activities in support of DW/BI solutions in the Claims area.
Requirements:
Candidate must be experienced in the creation and implementation of Data Models and Abinitio. Other ideal qualifications include experience in:
- Completing, tuning, refining, and successfully partnering with DA for the physical data model build in the database environment for access and data consumption.
- Contributing to and abiding by Data Management and Information Architecture Standards, Guidelines, and Policies.
- Having Insurance domain experience.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for translating information function requirements and patterns into Logical Data Models.
- Accountable for adhering to prevailing corporate audit, data management, information architecture, and modeling standards.
- Responsible for translating logical models into a physical design that supports application access and performance requirements.
- Responsible for data modeling and model management principles, guidelines, and best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring insight is provided into the End to End Data Strategy.
Skills:
- 6-8 years of work experience in DWBI with at least 3-4 years in Data Modeling.
- Good experience with Data Modeling tools (ERWIN).
- Good hands-on experience with multiple databases like Teradata & Oracle.
- Good analytical and logical skills in writing SQLs, Stored Procedures, and creating Marts/Views.
- Strong experience in Dimensional Modeling.
- Awareness of Data Management and Information Architecture Standards, Guidelines, and Policies.
- 4-year degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working within a highly-matrixed organization.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
