PLEX is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support cutting edge work in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. PLEX is a proud EOE Employer, including disability/vets. Locations may include: Hanover, MD, Annapolis Junction, MD, and Columbia, MD.

Required Skills

  • Develop and manage infrastructure using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Implement and manage AWS services including Lambda, AWS Fargate, DynamoDB, Aurora MySQL, EventBridge/Step Functions, S3, Cognito, API Gateway, and AWS Networking services (e.g., Security Groups, ALB/NLB, WAF).
  • Write and maintain code/scripts in Node.JS, Python, and/or TypeScript to automate processes and support cloud infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration and functionality.
  • Conduct frequent incremental code testing and deployments, ensuring high quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with team members in an agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
  • Apply hands-on technical experience in software development, system administration, or deployment to solve complex challenges.
  • Use version control tools (e.g., git, Subversion) and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and AWS Code Deploy.
  • Utilize Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) or similar Agile management software for tracking and collaboration.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in software versions, configurations, and component compatibility.
  • Work with AWS Code suite tools (e.g., CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline) to streamline code development and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and AWS services.
  • Proficiency in Node.JS, Python, and/or TypeScript. Understanding of RESTful APIs and CI/CD concepts.
  • AWS Certified Developer or SysOps Administrator certification required. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Associate certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with git, Subversion, or other source management tools.
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in software versions, configurations, and compatibility.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph

Salary at Plex Solutions LLC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $240,000.00 (annualized USD) .
