Description:

Position Overview:

The Software Engineer III participates in the development of software for fitness consoles with global R&D teams. Helps to develop clear requirements, improve software quality, and assists with onboarding new engineers. Leading by example, the ideal candidate will leverage sound technical knowledge to improve products and processes. They have a strong capability to anticipate and resolve engineering development challenges early and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Contributes to building a positive, engaging, and interesting work environment.
  2. Provides input in sprint ceremonies to help empower the software team to contribute to the software development process.
  3. Understands and participates in improving all Johnson Development Processes, taking time to coach others to help them understand.
  4. Advocates for quality software development practices, documentation, and testing on their team.
  5. Leads individual development projects as needed.

Requirements:

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Science/Technical Engineering.

Experience:

  1. 5 years of object-oriented programming in a language such as C++, C#, Java, or Kotlin.
  2. Experience developing native Android Apps preferred.
  3. 4 years of UI-based application development.
  4. 2 years with built-in and integration unit testing.
  5. 3 years writing or editing technical documentation.
  6. 3 years of project sustaining or inheritance.
  7. Experience in project architecting.

Other Requirements:

  1. Ability and willingness to travel both internationally and domestically.
  2. Ability and willingness to communicate with overseas teams during non-business hours.
  3. Ability to work well with numerous diverse groups and individuals.
  4. Ability to mentor junior engineers.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
