The ideal candidate will specialize in trademark law, with at least 20 years of experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, brand and portfolio management, and counseling clients on trademark strategy both domestically and internationally. Location:

Duties:

• Manage trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement for clients across various industries.
• Provide strategic counseling on trademark portfolio management and brand protection.
• Advise clients on global trademark strategy and manage international trademark portfolios.
• Foresee potential trademark issues and provide proactive legal advice to prevent disputes.
• Represent clients in trademark litigation, including both domestic and international matters.
• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective trademark enforcement programs.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic IP services.
• Draft and negotiate trademark licensing agreements and other related agreements.

Requirements:

• At least 20 years of experience in trademark law, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and strategy.
• Extensive experience in brand and portfolio management, with a focus on global trademark matters.
• Proven track record in providing trademark counseling and advising clients on trademark strategy.
• Strong background in trademark litigation, both in the U.S. and internationally.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Superb judgment and a client-service-focused approach.
• Ability to manage complex legal issues and work independently as well as in teams.
• Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in Illinois (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

• Expertise in trademark law, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and brand management.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international trademark regulations and enforcement practices.
• Ability to provide strategic legal counsel and anticipate trademark issues.
