Sr. Software Engineer

Our client is building a dynamic, in-house development team to take ownership of a critical internal system, driving modernization and innovation. • Location: Remote with some travel – Houston, TX based candidates preferred
• Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $110-145k/year

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the modernization of a monolithic internal system, transitioning towards microservices and cloud-based architecture.
• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java and Angular, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with product managers, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and work with CI/CD pipelines to optimize deployment processes.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

What Gets You the Job:

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with strong proficiency in Java and Angular.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Expertise in relational databases, particularly MS SQL Server.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and architectural decisions.
• Experience leading technical discussions, mentoring developers, and contributing to best practices in coding and deployment.
