Job Description
DRB Group, a large reputable homebuilding company, is looking for a paralegal to join its in-house legal team! If you are looking for an exciting position at a company where each team member is a valued asset and employee engagement is a priority, this position is for you.
As a Paralegal, you will primarily assist a growing team of eight (8) in-house attorneys, two (2) existing paralegals, and a risk management analyst, by performing the below stated duties:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing general assistance in real estate transactions. Proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency. Performing legal due diligence. Preparing documents relating to a variety of real estate matters based on consultation with, and review by, in-house attorneys, including contracts, leases, security instruments, escrow/closing instructions, and closing documents. Analyzing and summarizing documents and legal authorities for review by in-house real estate attorneys. Working closely with in-house attorneys in connection with general corporate and other matters and supporting a broad range of corporate transactions and projects. Reviewing surveys, title commitments and exception documents. Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to consistently provide high-quality work product within stated deadlines. General administrative functions. Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Skills Strong working knowledge of MS Office products Strong computer capabilities Ability to read, analyze and interpret statutes, contracts and other legal documents General working knowledge of office equipment Ability to solve practical problems Excellent oral and written skills Strong team-player; able to work with diverse groups of people Commitment to company values and customer service Ability and willingness to work effectively with coworkers, senior management, and outside legal counsel Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree and at minimum 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Prior experience and understanding of real estate law desirable Prior litigation experience desirable
