The GNC Fight Software Engineer will provide engineering expertise in support of Orion Program in Denver, CO or Houston, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop multi-variable degree-of-freedom simulations and perform analysis of ascent, aerocapture, entry, descent, landing and trajectory design across the Orion and commercial crew programs.
• Provide software development and scripting of Orion simulation tool and related applications.
• Design and execute analyses to compare the performance of different guidance algorithms.
• Develop, integrate, and test new algorithms for evaluation of vehicle and mission performance.
• Develop requirements documentation for mission design products as required.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in design and software development processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering, or a related field.
• Must have 7+ years of recent and related work experience.
• Must have experience with SW test.
• Must have experience with GN&C concepts and related software tools.
• Experience with orbital mechanics and designing spacecraft trajectories.
• Experience with the development of spacecraft mission design algorithms.
• Experience analyzing spacecraft performance.
• Experience with 6-DOF spacecraft simulations.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux.
• Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink knowledge/experience; CS background is beneficial, detail oriented.
• Experience developing, verifying, and validating simulation models.
• Strong interpersonal skills to enable successful performance in a collaborative engineering team.

DESIRED:

• Matlab/Simulink knowledge/experience.
• CS background is desired.

WORK LOCATION:

• This position is located onsite.
• This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
• This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

SALARY RANGE:

$80,000 - $140,000, salary will depend on education and experience.
