Job Overview:
A dynamic and fast-paced personal injury law firm located in Astoria is seeking a Trial Attorney with at least 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling trial cases and the ability to work independently while managing a caseload. Location:
Duties:
- Manage a caseload of personal injury cases from inception through trial.
- Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
- Represent clients in court, presenting compelling arguments and evidence.
- Conduct depositions, write motions, appeals, and trial preparation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Handle daily court appearances and client interactions.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in personal injury litigation.
- Proven trial experience and strong trial advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience in negotiating settlements and managing client relationships.
- Active license to practice law in New York (New Jersey license is a plus).
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active member of the New York State Bar (New Jersey Bar is a plus).
Skills:
- Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw.
- Excellent trial preparation and courtroom experience.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle settlements.
