We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX .
If selected you will:
- Support ongoing Engineering testing and Project needs
- Network Design and Implementation
- Network Configuration Management
- Network Operations
- Network Topology documentation and Asset Management
- Capture all applicable documents on the EA Asset Inventory Database (AIM) and ensure compliance with NASA standards - Produce required reports for management
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related area or experience in the field. Bachelor's degree with experience managing a complex Network.
- Possess a good understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, and Ethernet.
- Full understanding of the 7 layers of the OSI model, their functions and purpose.
- Extensive knowledge of network device types and their use cases.
- Understanding of different media types, such as UTP, Coaxial, Fiber Optic.
- Familiarity with various network operating systems, including Cisco IOS and Juniper JunOS.
- Proficient in installing and configuring Windows 10 and TCP/IP protocol.
- Proficiency in creating scripts or programs to automate tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in ServiceNow or any other workflow automation platforms.
- Windows Server Update Services.
- CCNA or CCNP certification.
- JNCIA certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
