With a diverse portfolio of investments across aerospace & defense, government services & technology, healthcare and business services & software, ACP is looking to bring on an agile thinker, who can effectively consult across these unique sectors with differentiated talent challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define and institutionalize talent best practices.
  • Partner with and leverage the ACP team, the portfolio company executive teams and boards and the consulting partners to define and deliver the talent agenda.
  • Grow ACP’s existing executive network infrastructure and ensure it creates value.
  • Identify critical leadership roles as required to execute the value creation plan (VCP) and assemble a talent strategy that enables each portfolio to reach its full potential from a talent perspective.
  • Partner with CEOs and CHROs to conduct networked and executive search recruiting to fill open senior executive and board positions.
  • Ensure that there is a disciplined and personalized 100-day onboarding plan for each leadership hire with clear success metrics that are linked to value.
  • Manage all executive search firm relationships and coordinate the executive searches to seamlessly support the portfolio companies and deal teams.
  • Work with CHROs to develop and implement evaluation processes for executive teams.
  • Manage and partner with deal teams to conduct annual board effectiveness self-assessments.
  • Aid in execution of our standard compensation structures and work with deal and management teams to customize the programs to the portfolio company requirements.
  • Ensure standards for reporting HR analytics and metrics and build out consistent dashboards.
  • Design and lead annual CEO, CHRO and other functional leader workshops and support any additional annual gatherings and sharing on a regular basis.
  • Assess portfolio companies’ organizational development needs including structure, staffing, systems and HR functions and processes.
  • Assist CEOs and CHROs in sourcing consultant support in these areas of organizational development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15 to 20+ years of experience in senior talent or HR business partner roles.
  • Previous experience in a relevant industry (financial or professional services) where people are key assets. Critical to the role is experience in HR, talent/assessment, operations and/or general management.
  • Diverse experience across one or more blue chip organizations, ideally with exposure to different industries and business models. Exposure to organizations well-regarded for HR and talent practices is highly preferred.
  • Proven expertise connecting compensation structure, organizational design, leadership assessment and development to business and financial objectives. Ability to leverage data to measure, guide decision-making and improve performance.
  • Talent leadership in the midst of change (merger, acquisition, divestiture, and/or integration processes)
  • Act as a critical player during M&A activity, particularly in due diligence, evaluating talent and reviewing compensation and benefits plans.
  • Creates a clear and coherent strategy that anticipates the future direction of the industry, competition and/or the broader environment, at least five years ahead.
  • Provides new direction for the organization, leading to actionable changes across multiple operations or functions.
  • Engages in scenario planning that incorporates new information or disruptive thinking to gain significant advantage or impact.
  • Builds and leverages a network of relationships that are important to the organization and its stakeholders.
  • Thoughtfully considers and adjusts the composition of the team to maximize its capability and effectiveness.
  • Develops the whole team to maximize overall team effectiveness (e.g., team-building exercises).
  • Acts as a talent magnet; attracts, retains and proactively represents the Arlington brand in the talent market.
