Overview:
We are seeking a QA Tester to work with our client. The QA Tester will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of the State of New Jersey applications by performing thorough testing of APIs, UIs, database functionality, and back-end services. The position requires experience in creating and executing test cases, performing functional, regression, load, and automation testing, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The QA Tester will work alongside development teams to set up QA discipline and tools to maintain high-quality standards for all of our clients’ applications.
Duties:
- Create and document detailed test cases for APIs, UIs, back-end modules, and database functionality.
- Perform functional testing to verify the application works as intended.
- Execute regression testing to ensure new updates do not affect existing functionality.
- Conduct load testing to ensure applications perform under high traffic and data conditions.
- Implement automation testing, when possible, to streamline testing processes.
- Set up and manage QA discipline and testing tools for more efficient workflows.
- Coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and report defects in the application.
- Monitor and track testing progress and provide updates to management.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience in progression and regression testing.
- 8-10 years of hands-on testing experience.
- Strong automation knowledge.
- Experience in establishing QA processes.
- Experience of testing distributed integrated enterprise applications with windows/Web UI, web/services/APIs, batch job/services.
- Experience of creating test cases, running the test cases, generating defect report, reviewing BRD/SRD and Design documents.
- Experience with test management tools such as Quality Center (ALM), Jira, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience setting up QA discipline for a small / mid-size development team.
- Experience testing UIs of different types including web, responsive UI, Apps.
- Experience with regression automation such as using tools Winrunner, QTP, Selenium, Soap/UI, Postman.
- Experience with automation testing, performance testing, smoke testing in production.
- Experience with data masking of production data.
- Experience as a business analyst / solution designer.
- Experience with Agile / Waterfall.
- Ability to manage Business expectation.
- Ability to interact with developers / BA.
