Role Definition

• We have an exciting opportunity open within Caterpillar as a Data Scientist for the Excavation Division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of the team that develops analytical tools to help provide valuable financial and operational insights to Senior Leadership.

What You Will Do:

• Directing the data gathering, data mining, and data processing processes in huge volume; creating appropriate data models.
• Leading to define requirements and scope of data analyses, presenting and reporting business insights to management using data visualization technologies.
• Complete projects by utilizing knowledge of statistical approaches, data management techniques, and/or related digital technologies.
• Interact with internal customers directly to understand the business problem and create technical requirements, as well as develop and deploy solution.
• Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholder(s).

What You Have:

• Business Statistics: Knowledge of the statistical tools, processes, and practices to describe business results in measurable scales; ability to use statistical tools and processes to assist in making business decisions.
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these
