Job Description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times a week, at minimum.


The Role

Our Global Customer Research group is seeking a dynamic leader to partner with our market researchers, enterprise data analytics, and other cross-functional business teams to drive actionable consumer insights. This leader will guide the development of solutions that unlock the power of holistic data integration, enabling exceptional consumer insights and recommendations by analyzing market research and other internal and external data sources. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and strategic vision, and experience in identifying and communicating impactful customer insights.

What You'll Do

  1. Guide and mentor the Global Market Research team in harnessing the potential of analytics-driven insights and in mastering the art of storytelling.
  2. Develop a roadmap for analyzing multiple data sources, uncovering hidden patterns, anticipating emerging trends, and identifying the key drivers of consumer behavior, in partnership with GM’s Enterprise Data, Analytics & Insights team.
  3. Guide the development and implementation of advanced data analytics applications for market research, leveraging statistical and AI tools to deepen consumer insights, predict trends, and anticipate market shifts.
  4. Analyze and interpret large volumes of attitudinal and behavioral data to drive strategic recommendations that inform forward-looking business decisions.
  5. Generate ad-hoc analysis and reports with actionable recommendations based on the needs of key stakeholders, through ad-hoc data retrieval and analysis from data management systems.
  6. Foster the adoption of data analytics and visualization tools that translate complex insights into clear, compelling narratives.
  7. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, advising market researchers and portfolio planners on integrated analytics potential and ongoing enhancement of market research methodologies and tools.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. Strong foundation in Insights Analytics - Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics applied to Market Research
  3. 10+ years of experience in consumer behavior applied statistics and advanced data analytics, with a track record in generating data-driven insights.
  4. Strong foundation of market research methodologies, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
  5. Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to think creatively and strategically to drive continuous improvement of data driven market research insights and analytics.
  7. Expertise in statistical, machine learning and AI frameworks.
  8. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  1. Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
  2. Strong foundation of market research methodologies, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling within the automotive industry.
