Busy Domestic Relations firm is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide critical support to our attorneys. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth administrative operations, including document production, client communication, scheduling, and more.
Responsibilities
- Support Attorneys with daily tasks
- Answering telephone and directing calls
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates as necessary
- Drafts correspondence, pleadings, notices and motions
- Maintain Attorney calendar
- Daily filing
- Follow-up with clients to collect information and documents
- Coordinate with other staff to schedule meetings for clients to review and sign their estate plan documents
- Representing attorney(s) by communicating and obtaining information, following up on delegated assignments, and knowing when to act and when to refer matters to the attorney(s)
- Address client inquiries in a timely and effective manner
- Assist with other tasks and projects as requested or needed
Qualifications
- Excellent management skills, including being well-organized, diligent at follow-up, self-directed follow-through, and able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- 3-5 years of law office administrative work experience, preferably with a domestic relations firm
- Strong telephone, typing and computer skills are a must
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with co-workers, clients, attorneys, and others
- Must be energetic, well organized, and have the ability to multi-task
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills
- Ability to work for multiple people and seamlessly adapt to each management style
- Familiarity with family law and domestic relations procedure
- Strong attention to detail and proficient proofreading skills
