Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager / Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal equipment reliability and efficiency by supporting performance improvement initiatives and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies. This role leads maintenance excellence efforts, enhances operational efficiency, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance:
- Promote a strong safety culture to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Equipment Reliability & Performance:
- Implement and maintain a reliability-centered maintenance strategy to maximize equipment uptime, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and optimize operational costs.
- Utilize root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability tools (FMEA, 5-Why, ATS) to identify and eliminate sources of downtime and equipment failure.
- Maintenance Leadership & Development:
- Lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team by providing training, guidance, and technical development opportunities.
- Ensure maintenance personnel are skilled, qualified, and proficient in all aspects of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Capital Projects & Budgeting:
- Scope, plan, and execute capital projects that enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for financial optimization.
- Process Improvement & Continuous Development:
- Actively contribute as a key member of the plant leadership team by driving process improvements, setting high performance standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational excellence goals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience in a plant maintenance role within an industrial manufacturing environment OR 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred.
- Background in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or Reliability Engineering is a plus.
- Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and the ability to implement safety compliance measures.
- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, instrumentation, lubrication, and predictive maintenance principles.
- Ability to analyze equipment failures and implement countermeasures to drive a Zero Breakdown culture .

- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
