Director of Reimbursement & Financial Analysis

Base pay range

$160,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

We are seeking a Director of Reimbursement & Financial Analysis to serve as a key liaison between Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Cycle leadership for our client in the medical rehabilitation space. This role will oversee the development and execution of reimbursement strategies across all payor types, ensuring compliance, optimizing financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary connection between Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Cycle teams
  • Develop and implement reimbursement strategies for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory changes impacting Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, assess their impact, and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with third-party partners to generate and analyze AR reports using RCA software, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and overseeing the month-end net AR close process
  • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of annual Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, ensuring compliance with CMS regulations
  • Work with external auditors during Medicare/Medicaid audits and manage responses to audit findings
  • Oversee Medicare bad debt policies and procedures
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accounts receivable, bad debt, denials, and collection rates
  • Provide financial and strategic insights for payor contract negotiations to optimize reimbursement rates
  • Support the annual CDM pricing review process
  • Offer reimbursement expertise in strategic financial modeling for partnerships and expansions
  • Present complex financial data and insights to senior leadership, offering recommendations for financial and operational improvements
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting efforts for revenue cycle operations


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree and/or CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare financial operations, with at least 5 years in reimbursement roles (or equivalent experience through advanced degrees)
  • In-depth knowledge of CMS regulations, cost reporting, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes and their impact on net revenue and AR valuation
  • Experience with Medicare Cost Report preparation and review
  • Proficiency in RCA software for AR analysis and accounting
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing, coding practices, and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in accounting principles related to revenue and accounts receivable
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
