Title: Pre-Press Manager

About the Role: Our client, an industry leader in high-quality print production, is seeking a Pre-Press Manager to oversee and enhance their pressroom operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all production meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Manage pressroom workflow to meet cost objectives and maximize efficiency.
• Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance print production.
• Partner with Sales and Clients for press checks and approval of production jobs.
• Foster long-term collaborations with suppliers to ensure a stable supply of high-quality raw materials.
• Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all printing processes.
• Prepare and analyze daily shift reports, communicating key performance insights during production meetings.
• Supervise inventory management, timekeeping, and attendance tracking for the pressroom team.
• Lead hiring, training, retention, performance evaluations, and corrective action plans for employees.
• Conduct monthly departmental meetings to review safety, quality, and production updates.
• Implement strategies to ensure consistent color and quality across all production jobs.
• Drive productivity improvements within the pressroom and hold teams accountable for their performance.
• Mentor and develop team members to foster a culture of continuous growth and professional excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent operational experience.
• 10+ years of experience in the printing industry, with 5+ years in a management role.
• Expertise in Pre-Press Operations, Six Sigma methodologies, and quality performance management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive results.
• Experience in workforce planning, hiring, training, performance reviews, and corrective actions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with print production software.
• Hands-on experience with large-format sheetfed printing presses, ideally UV/LED Komori models.
• Knowledge of printing on various substrates including paper, plastic, styrene, and synthetics.
• Experience with Silk Screen printing and digital printing technologies is a plus.
• Proven ability to uphold a safe and efficient work environment.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and handle fine motor tasks.
• Capability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Experience working around moving machinery and using personal protective equipment as required.
• Exposure to paper dust, chemical smells, and moderate noise levels within a manufacturing environment.
