Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator reports to the Payroll Manager and assists with processing payrolls and performing other payroll related activities for all Budrovich Companies in compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), tax regulations, and internal company policies. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform complex payroll operations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Payroll Processing:

•Process weekly payrolls for all union and non-union employees in a timely and accurate manner.

•Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, CBAs, and company policies and procedures.

•Verify that payrolls are accurately calculated based on approved timecards, and that deductions, overtime and special pay rates are calculated correctly.

•Assist with interpreting and applying CBA requirements, including wage scales, benefits, and deductions.

•Submit accurate and timely union dues, pension, and benefits remittances.

•Prepare and pay federal, state, and local payroll taxes, in compliance with regulations.

•Process employee garnishments in compliance with legal requirements.

•Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information to ensure accuracy in a timely and professional manner.

Compliance and Reporting:

•Assist in the preparation and distribution of Form W-2s annually.

•Address monthly and quarterly reporting and payment of payroll taxes.

•Generate detailed payroll reports for management, audits, and financial planning.

•Assist with managing payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data accurately and retaining required payroll records.

•Assist with union and insurance payroll audits by providing documentation and resolving inquiries.

•Run certified payrolls accurately and in compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

Collaboration and Leadership:

•Work closely with the Payroll Manager and the Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure payroll processes are aligned with overall company goals.

•Partner with the Payroll Manager and the Business Units to ensure the payroll aspects of all projects are fully understood and addressed prior to project commencement.

•Assist the Business Units and other departments with payroll-related tasks and projects, as needed.

•Perform various other duties, as assigned to support the payroll, operational, and administrative functions.

Qualifications:

•Practical payroll experience.

•Associate or bachelor’s degree a plus, especially in accounting or finance.

•Construction and/or union payroll experience (and understanding of CBAs, certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements) a plus.

•Experience with multi-state payroll processing.

•Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.

•Proficiency with payroll software and systems (Vista, a plus).

•Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

•Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

•Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Candidates with contracting experience are preferred. Salary range is commensurate with experience.
