Reports to: Director of Projects


Job Summary

An industry leader in industrial gas processing solutions is seeking a highly skilled I&E Lead to spearhead electrical engineering projects for control system design and power & motor control distribution. This role involves leading technical efforts, managing department resources, enforcing standard procedures, mentoring team members, and ensuring project success through engineering excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Project Management

  • Provide technical expertise and support across all projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce standard processes and procedures.
  • Manage department resources in coordination with project managers.
  • Provide training and mentorship to department employees.
  • Review and verify department work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Participate in facility design reviews and approve major technical purchase orders.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes.

Engineering & Design

  • Develop electrical deliverables for all project phases, including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design.
  • Engineer and design facility power distribution systems from the electric utility interface.
  • Engineer and design PLC-based control systems.
  • Develop and implement designs for lighting, grounding, and electrical heat tracing systems.
  • Create and review electrical engineering and design drawings, including single-line diagrams, power plans, motor control schematics, cable schedules, and area classifications.
  • Develop detailed electrical specifications for equipment, installation, and testing.
  • Conduct critical electrical calculations, including load flow studies, voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis, and arc flash assessments.
  • Manage third-party electrical engineering firms to meet key project deliverables.

Sales & Procurement Support

  • Support sales team proposal efforts by providing technical insights.
  • Contribute to project estimating and proposal development.
  • Assist in procurement activities by preparing technical inquiry packages, bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.

Construction & Compliance

  • Provide technical support for construction efforts through meetings, RFIs, and site visits.
  • Inspect electrical installations and equipment for compliance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electrical systems in industrial gas processing facilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years in Electrical & Controls Engineering, with a focus on control system and power distribution design for industrial gas processing facilities.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and design practices.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ISA , and other applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Experience with VFDs, motor control equipment, and power distribution systems .
  • Proficiency in electrical system design, procurement specifications, and installation standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Work is primarily sedentary, with occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).
  • Requires extended visual and auditory concentration.
