Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Mid to Senior Level Bridge Engineer to join our growing structures group. In this role, you will lead design efforts for both local and DOT structures throughout Wisconsin. This position offers an excellent opportunity for upward mobility within a growing firm. Key Responsibilities:
• Lead structural engineering efforts on bridge projects, including reviewing designs and plans.
• Provide specialized technical input on transportation-related projects.
• Manage or actively participate in bridge design tasks and coordinate work with engineering staff.
• Conduct conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges using prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
• Assess and design rehabilitation plans for existing bridges.
• Perform load evaluations of existing bridges.
• Prepare technical specifications and design documents, and provide engineering support for reports and technical writing.
What to Bring (Job Requirements):
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering.
• At least 6 years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Bureau of Structures procedures.
• Proficiency in current structural modeling software tools.
• Strong structural problem analysis skills.
• Knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable design codes.
• Excellent verbal communication, technical writing skills, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Prior experience with complex bridge projects is a plus.
• Current Wisconsin Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to acquire within one year of employment.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Working Conditions:
• Remote/Hybrid work environment with occasional travel for meetings, training, and events.
