Position requires the planning and directing of NBIS inspections, maintenance and repair program and the operation of bridges in northern Virginia and Maryland including Movable Bridges. Responsible for planning the overall inspection, maintenance, and repair program for bridges, including the operation and mechanical and electrical maintenance of movable bridges. Work is performed under the direction of the Project Manager.

• Plans, directs, and reviews the inspection, maintenance and repair of bridges, structures and stormwater management ponds.
• Provides oversight of routine and preventive maintenance of bridges.
• Makes on-site inspections to determine that the work is being completed in conformance to the specifications.
• Oversees the planning and scheduling for temporary traffic control and snooper trucks required to complete the bridge inspections.
• Directs the planned and unplanned openings of movable bridges.
• Acts as assistant to the project manager in charge of bridge and highway maintenance.
• Assists in ice and snow removal activities.
• Performs related work as required..

Requirements:

• Structural Engineering Degree
• 10+ years of experince in bridge and road maintenance
