ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a General Maintenance Technician to join our Operations Services teamatPicatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey. This position is onsite.

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of systems and buildings at company and customer sites ensuring reliable, efficient, and cost-effective long-term operation. The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for operations and maintenance related to the Area Wide Maintenance (AWM) and planned maintenance under all contracts.

The essential functions of the position include:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings requiring practical skills and knowledge
• Perform basic inspections and testing on HVAC equipment
• Work involves a variety of the following duties: equipment PM's, replacing filters, belts, cleaning condensing units, cooling towers and chillers, humidifiers, ice machines, and checking air compressors and other equipment
• Responsible for field verification of safe work practices and implementation of operational excellence
• Ensure safety permits are being obtained and activity hazard analyses are being conducted
• Verify the availability and condition of all personal protective equipment
• Communicate with supervisors/management as to job progress and issues of assigned work
• Be familiar with preventive maintenance techniques including working with ladders, lifts and on roofs
• Occasional weed whacking/string trimming around overgrown pieces of equipment to make them accessible
• Daily logging of PM work activities in our IFS (work order) system

Your background includes:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two (2) years of work experience

A bonus to have:

• Five (5) years of work experience.
• OSHA 10 Training
• Vocational/ Technical Training School
