A well-established manufacturer and automotive supplier is seeking a Production Manager to be responsible for a specific area of the plant and manage a team of direct and indirect reports. As the Production Manager , you will report to a Senior Manager and will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Motivate and lead a high-achieving production team, providing coaching and mentorship to reach objectives
- Drive safety, quality standards and on-time delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiencies
- Proactively identify trends and implement improvements to boost departmental performance
- Modify production schedules to maximize output
- Analyze, monitor and work to improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Address and resolve production challenges, implementing effective solutions
- Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvements
- Participate in leadership discussions, keeping management informed of department progress
- Conduct root cause analysis and put corrective actions in place
- Prepare and complete necessary reports
- Perform additional duties as needed
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 70% of the time. Individuals should be able to work within team-oriented environments, be flexible with work duties, learn new tasks quickly, be able to handle changing priorities and enjoy supporting the manufacturing site by empowering their staff.

REQUIREMENTS for the Production Manager:
1. High school diploma; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred
2. Minimum of three years in a similar production management role in manufacturing
3. Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports of 50+ people
4. A proven track record of continuous improvements, including scrap reductions, efficiency improvements, etc.
5. Microsoft Office, including Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
2. Automotive supplier experience
