Overview

The Warranty Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Warranty Department activities, working with Branch Managers, Service Managers, Caterpillar and our Allied OEMs to ensure that all warranty expenses are reimbursed.

Responsibilities

  • Review warranty WIP and related reports to assure claims are processed promptly.
  • Review claim settlements to ensure the payments received are complete and submit supplemental claims as needed.
  • Review the Warranty Claim pipeline and assign workload to keep the claims process flowing and processed within required timelines.
  • Review the Allied Claims pipeline and follow up to ensure claims are filed within required timelines.
  • Assist the Warranty team to address any claims issues and resolve them promptly to submit claims.
  • Review returned claims and assist if needed to make corrections within the Caterpillar timeline for updating.
  • Review and update Customer Order to Invoice (COTI) in Uptake to complete warranty functions.
  • Produce quotes for Extended Protection Plans and Extended Service Coverage for sales and service.
  • Monitor reports from Warranty BOT to complete machine Extended Coverage enrollments and update DBS daily.
  • Process and submit Goodwill claims for service loaner machines.
  • Provide support as needed to address warranty questions or concerns at the branch level.
  • Provide monthly reports for accounting and other departments as required.
  • Manage warranty WIP to ensure warranty expenses are maintained within the monthly budget projections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in business related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with warranty claims is preferred.
  • 4-6 years writing warranty at an equipment dealer (Caterpillar dealer or similar OEM) preferred.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written (detail oriented) and verbal communications skills is required.
  • Must have basic technical knowledge of machine models and functions of both CAT and Allied.
  • Must be an enthusiastic, hard worker with ability to complete time sensitive work based on self-initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of DBS and CAT Internet Sites (Simsi, SIS, Global Warranty) is a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with executives, managers, employees, vendors and customers.
  • Personal commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.

  • Position requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
