Essential Job Functions:
Major tasks and other key responsibilities include:
- Be recognized as the leader of all operations through a combination of cultural, technical & inter-personal skills.
- Managing the safe, efficient operation of all processes, including material planning, filling, kitting, shipping, & receiving while maintaining optimal operational efficiencies.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adjust to quick changes in priorities.
- Work with the commercial team to ensure customer satisfaction and pro-actively address any concerns.
- Thorough understanding of lean operations concepts.
- The ability to train, lead & effect accountability in a workforce.
- Plan and supervise the day to day activites in the plant.
- Implement operations scorecard metrics.
- Ability to use a combination of ERP/Off-Line systems to plan operations.
- Manage optimal inventory levels accurately and per procedure.
- Develop a comprehensive communication plan to engage employees in the day to day operations.
- Conduct employee performance reviews, skill assessments and identify development gaps; suggest training needs to HR.
- Ensure that employees follow all company safety procedures and adhere to Standard operating procedures.
- Ensure work areas are neat, clean and safe.
- Assist with budgeting and financials.
- Present and maintain a positive attitude with regards to Polytek management policies and instructions and follow all rules set forth in Polytek’s Employee Policy Manual; including promoting continuous improvements, 5S and striving for excellence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:

- Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer.
- Must be able to work in an office environment.
- Must be able to talk, hear and see with vision abilities including close/near, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering manufacturing areas.
- Travel may include up to 10%.
Education and Experience:
- Must be able to understand, speak, write and read English.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of skills and experience. MBA preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in Manufacturing Leadership experience preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in a FMCG or assembly type operation environment utilizing an AWS.
- Experience with chemical operations an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience with OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, DOT, IATA, IMDG regulations pertaining to the chemical industry.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.
