Description The Security Manager at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is expected to be a leader of the department and a proponent of honesty, integrity, security, safety, and teamwork. They will manage all operational facets and maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures. Given the Academy's multiple locations around the Los Angeles area, and each facility having multiple uses, the Security Manager will lead the Security Department by example and will emphasize the need to be extremely sensitive towards all the various employees and guests anticipating their needs.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Accountable for the multi-faceted department team's performance in all operations and interfacing with Academy Theaters, Special Events, Parking Operations, and Executive Protection groups.
- Assist the Senior Director, Security in developing the department's structure by hiring personnel.
- Remain informed of current federal and local laws and regulations as they relate to the Academy and the entertainment and cultural field. Liaise with local law-enforcement and fire department agencies as necessary.
- Administration of policies and procedures regarding security and safety; manage safety and security audits and inspections.
- Write and review team member's reports and conduct thorough investigations. Promotes loss prevention through training and awareness to reduce claims.
- Manage, conduct, and coordinate FALS and security system drills to ensure emergency response procedures are enforced.
- Collaborate with and manage relationships with external clients and vendors.
- Update department post orders as required.
- Conduct and manage training opportunities for internal and across departments as required.
- Manage large scale events on Academy premises and external locations.
- Perform any special projects deemed necessary by Senior Director, Security.
- Responsible for security duties during absence of Senior Director, Security.
Position RequirementsQualifications and Requirements: - A bachelor's degree preferred.
- 7+ years security experience in entertainment or cultural fields.
- 3+ years in a leadership position required.
- Event Management and Executive Protection experience required.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and payroll software.
- Knowledge of Security and Fire Suppression systems.
- Valid driver's license and CA BSIS guard card. CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
- Dependable transportation to travel locally between Academy facilities.
- Strong interpersonal, written communications and the ability to exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized with excellent follow-through and analytical skills.
- Able to anticipate needs and act upon requests independently.
- Must be able to work weekends and late hours on short notice, as needed.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to move and transport up to 25 lbs. and climb stairs.

The expected base salary for this role is $80,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
