Job Description

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Program Manager will provide on-site EHS and OHS consulting services for a high visibility research and development program for a high technology customer. The EHS Program Manager will own safety programming, advise on a wide array of EHS/OHS subject-matter, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to build trust.

To be successful, the right candidate cannot have a rigid, "check the box" approach to safety, but must be adaptable, creative, and collaborative. The right candidate must demonstrate a keen ability to build relationships, prioritize tasks, and satisfy multiple stakeholders' needs. This role is part of a global team of safety professionals.
  • Owns the development, implementation, and management of safety programs.
  • Provides expert advice and consultation to stakeholders for implementing hazard controls, safety training, compliance to local, state, federal, and company standards, and other relevant topics.
  • Performs Industrial Hygiene (IH) Monitoring.
  • Conducts incident and injury investigations, risk assessments, audits, walkthroughs, and inspections.
  • Prioritizes tasks and effectively communicates project information to stakeholders.
  • Acts as brand ambassador for SGS values and expertise.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, orrelated field. Degrees in other fields will also be considered, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the Occupational Health & Safety field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Consulting experience
  • High technology industry experience
  • Research & Development experience

Preferred:
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or ability to obtain
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ability to obtain

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to balance several assignments concurrently with different deadlines
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to diverse stakeholders
  • Professional credibility, preferable through an understanding of the environmental, industrial hygiene, and/or high technology industries
  • Strong ability to work across teams, groups, divisions of customer's compnay
  • Tbility to foresee and analyze project risks, develop risk management plan and mitigate subsequent issues.

The salary range for this position is $101,200 - $131,500 (dependent on experience).

In addition, your compensation package includes the following benefits:
  • Participation in the Company's benefit programs coincident or following the first of the month in which you are hired.
  • Immediate eligibility to participate in the Company's 401K Retirement Plan
  • Paid time off:
    • Fifteen (15) vacation days
    • Four (4) floating holidays annually
    • Seven (7) company observed holidays paid
