We are looking for a passionate Senior Platform Engineer to design and develop solutions related to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, security, and other platform-wide services to drive our internal engineering teams. We also encourage mentorship through pair programming to help bring our team to the next level. Senior Platform Engineers are expected to participate in these activities and set the standard for the team.
Our ideal candidates are familiar with current trends in web technology, and have extensive experience in cloud infrastructure design and provisioning. Ideal candidates should also be familiar with infrastructure-as-code platforms, CI/CD best practices, as well as security-minded infrastructure design. You should be able to work independently with little supervision, along with excellent organization, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to be able to effectively give and receive feedback from team members.
Ultimately, the role of the Senior Platform Engineer is to build (and enable their teammates to build) high-quality, performant and well-tested infrastructure solutions and internal tooling that complies with coding standards and quality expectations of the leadership team and our clients.
What you'll do:- Take a technical leadership role on features and team roadmaps
- Large group communications and presentations
- Work with the architecture team to develop maintainable, effective, and efficient solutions
- Help to onboard and mentor other engineers on the team
- Maintain a high level of productivity while making significant contributions to infrastructure, CI/CD, and internal tooling initiatives
- Participate in a rigorous code review process, including giving and receiving critical feedback
- Work directly with internal engineering teams to understand gaps in our shared infrastructure and tooling
- Write well-designed, well-tested code
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
What experience we're looking for:- 6-12+ years of relevant work experience in cloud infrastructure and/or dev ops
- Excellent knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code platforms
- Experience with the building and maintenance of CI/CD platforms
- Experience in at least two of the following is preferred, but not required: Go, Scala/Java, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience with a formal code review process is a plus
- Experience in technical/team leadership preferred
