We are looking for a dedicated Lead Endoscopy Technician like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsAs the Lead Endoscopy Technician, you will have overall responsibility for a designated endoscopy procedural area. You will be responsible for ensuring all equipment, supplies and instruments are available and operational. You will train and mentor other staff, and function under the direction endoscopy leadership to facilitate the safe and effective completion of endoscopic gastrointestinal and bronchoscopy procedures. You will facilitate instrument and scope repairs, ensure accuracy and organization of equipment, instruments, logs, and documentation, prepare and transport equipment to assist with procedures, and act as a preceptor and teacher to less experienced staff.You will assist in transferring and positioning patientsYou will handle dirty linens and equipmentYou will respond to patient and family needs and notify Charge Nurse of changes in patient statusYou will ensure documentation on pre-procedure checklist is complete and accurate, appropriate consent forms are completed, and physicians are notified of any conditions which may affect the procedureYou will demonstrate understanding of each procedure and the equipment indicatedYou will assure patient safety during transporting and while the patient is in the procedure roomYou will clean and sterilize equipment and the procedure roomsYou will be a dedicated preceptor and provide ongoing clinical support for new Endoscopy TechniciansYou will ensure on-call schedules are completed each monthYou will demonstrate knowledge of proper specimen collection, handling, labeling and submitting to appropriate departmentsWhat qualifications you will need:Experience3 years of experience in advanced endoscopy, or SGNA certificationEducationHigh school diploma or equivalentIf Surgical Technologist, graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital conducted on the job training with proof of program content and completion prior to September 1, 2009Licenses and CertificationsBasic Life Support CertificationCertified Surgical Technologist - preferredSGNA certification - preferredSt. David’s Georgetown Hospital is a comprehensive healthcare facility located north of Austin,Texas.
