AtkinsRéalis is pleased to offer a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an experienced Senior Process Engineer Dairy in our Toronto region GTA.
The candidate selected will be expected to demonstrate their aptitude for teamwork, rigor towards quality, and creativity in order to identify effective technical solutions, as well as possess an analytical mind capable of clearly communicating their ideas.
Your role within the team: - Act as a technical expert in dairy manufacturing and design
- Conception and process engineering for clients that are mainly in the dairy sector.
- Review or evaluation of processes, user requirements and technical specifications.
- Participate in the process architecture development.
- Execute mass and energy balances sheets.
- Execute process flow diagrams (PFD).
- Process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Identification of appropriate technologies, selections, and capacities.
- Write and review equipment specifications.
- Preparation of production cost estimates.
- Preparation of purchase and installation quotes for process equipment.
- Evaluate bid from suppliers and contractors.
- Validate suppliers' shop drawings.
- Support project managers.
- Act as a process discipline lead on larger projects.
- On-site support during construction, delivery, and execution of projects.
- Participate in professional services proposals Knowledge transfer and mentoring.

The ideal candidate: - Bachelor in mechanical, chemical or food engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in food and dairy process engineering.
- Prior experience in engineering consulting.
- Knowledge in the HACCP guidelines.
- Knowledge of CIP systems and piping designs and all pasteurization processes and technologies (HTST, UP, UHT technologies).
- Capable of designing dairy processes and networks.
- A good collaborator who communicates effectively through active listening.
- Is proficient in English (spoken and written) and French (spoken)*.
