As the Senior Manager, Data Programs, supported by the Director, Data Strategy & Corporate Compliance, you will help enable innovation for a friendly future, by contributing to sustainable data strategies that build trust in TELUS and our digital world.
In this role, you will materially influence the ongoing growth of TELUS data risk management work by building or enhancing key programs that help TELUS build customer trust and effectively manage data risks. Examples of programs you will work on include our third party management and mergers and acquisitions programs, focusing on the areas of privacy, responsible AI and data governance. You will be instrumental in advancing our reputation for being trustworthy, by creating tools and processes for managing data risks associated with TELUS third parties, new entities and TELUS affiliates. You will use a responsible human-centric approach to ensure that TELUS uses data to deliver remarkable business and social outcomes, in a manner that demonstrates TELUS’ commitment to putting our customers and communities first.
What you’ll do
Develop, implement, and support strategic data programs, including in the areas of third party data risk management and mergers and acquisitions data risks, in a manner that contributes to the execution of TELUS’ strategic objectives.
Facilitate and advocate for change management processes that support the evolution of the third party and mergers and acquisitions risk management data programs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams at TELUS to meet Data & Trust Office objectives.
Adapt to meet the changing needs of the organization, and a fast-paced ambitious team, where priorities shift but the focus on the mission is steadfast.
What you bring
Ability to contribute to the flawless execution of cutting-edge programs and delivering measurable outcomes on large and complex projects.
5+ years experience in project management, and/or designing and implementing end to end compliance programs.
Strong background and experience in applying privacy law and principles.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Ability to distill complex and/or ambiguous problems into clear, actionable requirements and to build and foster relationships across all levels of the organization.
Post-secondary education.
International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) certification or willingness and ability to become certified within 6 months.
Great-to-haves
Project management certification.
Experience working in a large, matrixed organization.
Legal background/experience.
Experience with OneTrust privacy management software.
Location: Any major Canadian city
Salary Range: $94,000-$140,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%.
