The Opportunity:nnThe Commercial Driver position will at the Memphis Tennessee Warehouse and serve as the secondary driver. When needed, the commercial driver will drive the company tractor and trailer to deliver products to our customers. Driver routes will typically be 4-10 stops per route, will require the driver to unload via lift gate with pallet jack, and transport/place palletized product inside the customersu2019 location. Driver will be expected to use ELD and log all activity and follow all state and federal regulations. Routes are generally <150 miles round trip but could be longer including interstate depending on DC location.nnHow you will impact Victory Packaging, a Smurfit Westrock Company:nnPrimarily assist with warehouse operator duties and responsibilities by transferring materials, unloading, processing, loading and storage areas.nnMove outgoing product using hand truck, forklift, or other material handling equipment, in accordance with all safety policies, to loading dock.nnPerform Commercial Driver duties when necessarynnReceive, sort and place incoming products in appropriate warehouse location.nnRecord amounts of material shipped or received in Victory computer system.nnMark materials and product with Victory inventory codes.nnOrganize the warehouse for cleanliness and safety at all times.nnSweep, mop and perform other routine maintenance.nnSafely operates tractor and trailer for the delivery of product and materials.nnPerform vehicle inspections as required.nnOperate mobile apps on phone for ELD and proof of delivery.nnProvide outstanding customer service during delivery.nnFollow all safety rules for equipment and material handling as required by DOT, OSHA and Company safety program.nnEnsure all orders are delivered in good condition and in full as per the bill of lading.nnCommunicate effectively with operations staff about customer concerns.nnUtilize material handling equipment, such hand trucks.nnWhat you need to succeed:nnForklift experience and certificationnnCurrent CDL Class A licensennOne or more yearsu2019 experience as a warehouse operator preferred.nnNo preventable motor vehicle violations within last 12 monthsnnCurrent medical certification card.nnOne or more year(s) experience driving a tractor trailer.nnGeneral fluency in English required, verbal and writtennnBasic computer literacy preferrednnHigh school diploma or equivalent preferrednnPhysical DemandsnnThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
