GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The custodian will keep the building and workspaces clean and safe by providing a variety of cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance functions. They may also support by providing adequate set up and clean up for meetings or activities on the property.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED
1-3 years prior janitorial or job-related experience
Ability to pass background and drug screen
ability to stand and walk 90% of workday
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs several daily cleanup projects simultaneously without direct supervision. This includes general cleaning an overall maintenance of facilities (rooms, floors, cafeteria, bathrooms etc.) as well as special projects.
- Follows a cleaning schedule developed by the facilities manager daily.
- Performs 5S activities as required daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Arranges furniture and supplies to prepare spaces for internal or external group activities and events. Ensures clean up and tear down after events conclude.
- Reports any safety problems or building security issues immediately.
- Ensures energy conservation and environmental compliance in all activities.
- Identifies and report damaged spaces, spills, or other conditions which need attention to facilities or EHS team members.
- Operates all equipment (ladders, cleaning tools, floor sanders, carts etc.) in a safe manner and controls access to chemicals. Ability to use polishing equipment, dollies, hoists, and other moving aids.
- Delivers and inventories a variety of items for distribution (supplies, cleaning agents, toilet paper, towels etc.). May enter purchase requisitions into SAP.
- Demonstrates helpful and courteous behavior to employees and the public when interacting.
- Knowledge and compliance with ITAR, EAR and applicable security regulations and the ability to monitor established protocols.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
