A Tester is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Richmond, VA area. The role involves testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex enterprise equipment in a manufacturing environment, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring safety and quality standards.

responsibilities:

Test various types of Static Switches, UPSs, RPPs, and PDUs.
n n- n
Work with limited supervision and troubleshoot both high and low power.
n n- n
Advanced proficiency in testing and troubleshooting electronics.
n n- n
Experience with high power 600V-208V 3-phase applications.
n n- n
Familiarity with PCBA programming.
n n- n
Participate in cross-functional teams and collaborate closely with Quality, Process, and Engineering departments.
n n- n
Maintain a 6S and safe work area consistently.
n n- n
Report any problems with schematics, drawings, etc.
n n- n
Work weekends and overtime shifts as needed.
n n- n
Collaborate with production on manufacturing issues.
n n- n
Receive task assignments from supervisor but initiate tasks independently; inform supervisor of progress regularly.
n n- n
May have management responsibilities, make key decisions, and write/manage policies and procedures with supervisor guidance.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
n
n- n
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
n n- n
3-5 years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and 3-phase high power (preferred).
n n- n
2+ years of experience in a test lab or manufacturing environment (preferred).
n n- n
strong understanding of electrical/electronic technology.
n n- n
Ability to read and understand engineering documentation (blueprints, wire schematics, drawings, component specs, and ECNs).
n n- n
Ability to troubleshoot to the board level.
n n- n
Experience setting up and using electronic test equipment.
n n- n
Ability to construct and maintain test equipment.
n n- n
Proficiency with computer programs (Excel, Word, HyperTerminal, etc.).
n n- n
Experience using power meters and oscilloscopes.
n n- n
Understanding of transformer voltage, current, and power calculations.
n n- n
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing techniques (5S, Kaizen, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis).

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP.

Expertise in harness and wiring techniques.
