Machine Maintenance Technician
Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $23 -$25 /HR
Location: Pasadena, TX 77507

Position Summary: Develops and coordinates the implementation and administration of a schedule of planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance for equipment, machinery, tools, or buildings. Review manufacturer and service manuals, and records of maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance (PM).
Primary Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting:

• Identify and diagnose malfunctions or operational problems.
• Analyze technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to pinpoint issues.
• Implement corrective actions to resolve problems efficiently.
• Develops and maintains a functional computerized preventive maintenance program, utilizing industry standards
• Oversees all facets of the program, ensuring compliance with state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations
• Utilizes computerized systems to input PM orders and track status and/or completion.
• Develops and maintains required parts list per each piece of equipment.
• Coordinates/streamlines installation and/or repairs of equipment using a computerized system.
• Develops and maintains reports including efficiency reports relating to hours and dollars, Area PM percentage, deferred PM reports, and equipment renewal/replacement reports.
• Develops and maintains a task code library, adding new tasks as needed.
• Performs random checks of PM for equipment handled by external contractors to ensure reliability and quality of work
• Independently works with managers in coordinating and scheduling maintenance programs in various areas of the university.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects to assist in the accomplishment of established goals
• Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance.
• May develop and coordinate plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment, machinery, or buildings.
• Motivate, implement, and drive continuous improvement activities through Manufacturing initiatives. Embrace continuous improvement and actively participate as a leader
• Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments and adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Machine Maintenance Qualifications & Requirement:

• Experience operating a saw (1-3 years preferred)
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to understand Method Instructions
• Must be able to operate the machine, robot welder and use hand and small power tools (hand pliers, hand screwdrivers, Allen wrenches and screw gun).
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machine tool maintenance or a related field is preferred. (Millwright)
• Proven experience as a machine tool maintenance technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of various types of machine tools and their components.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
• Welding, machining, and fabrication skills.
• Understanding of safety regulations and practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift to 50-70 lbs.
