Also responsible for long-term growth of the business by building professional relationships with customers and mentoring estimating staff.nnResponsibilitiesnnSpecific responsibilities include:nnReview and evaluate bid requestsnnPrepare weekly bid calendar and ensure timely completion of pricingnnReview estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracynnReview project documents and understand scope of work as well as identify any potential pricing gapsnnExecute material and project documentsnnInput take-offs into computer spreadsheet and review completenessnnObtain bids from subcontractors and vendors as well as overall strategizing with subcontractors and vendors on creating a competitive edge and award strategynnPrepare cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of itemsnnGenerate an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not availablennInform immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted item or computer databasennDevelop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.nnDevelop relationships with customers for better bid-day communication and possible advantagesnnAssist Business Development with procurement strategies, suggest leads, discuss possible selling points and review needs. This includes attending sales activitiesnnAttend and participate in project scope review meetingsnnPhotocopy documents and plansnnThis position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to Vice President of Estimating.nnQualificationsnnRequired Education, Experience and Qualificationsnn8+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and expertise.nnAbility to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, bid forms, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.nnSpeak effectively before groups of customers or employees.nnExperience with estimating techniques and cost control.nnAbility to perform detailed labor and material take-offs.nnEffective verbal and written communication skills.nnDetail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.nnWell versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.nnExcellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.nnPreferred Education, Experience and QualificationsnnKnowledge of Estimation software is strongly encouraged.nnTravel RequirementsnnInfrequent travel to Company or client locations.
