Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.nnPosition SummarynnUnder the supervision of the Director of Residential Care the CNA provides direct care and supervision of residents and observes and reports resident conditions to the Individual Service Plan Team.nnEssential FunctionsnnProvide compassionate and safe care for all Alegria residents.nnRespond to clients needs promptly, professionally, and with courtesynnProvide care and supervision to residents as indicated in their Individual Service Plan including assistance with monitoring vital signs. Record/Report signs and symptoms of illness.nnRecognize the need for assistance and or medical intervention, and take action when necessarynnMonitor resident’s vitals, call the physician, call 911 or send to ER via taxi or ambulance as needednnFollow all Alegria policies and procedures. Attend all staff meetings, training and workshops.nnDirectly observe resident taking their medication, follow medication policy, also weigh designated residents weekly and all others once a month, report significant weight changes to Registered Nurse.nnComplete end-of-shift report of residents and house activity to the oncoming shift and management staff.nnMonitor the house and residents, make rounds at least every two hours and more often if necessary.nnAlways maintain resident confidentiality.nnMaintain positive working relations with residents, staff, volunteers, Salvation Army representatives, and representatives from other agencies.nnDemonstrate self-direction and initiative in prioritizing, organizing and completing job responsibilitiesnnProvide assistance to residents with housekeeping and laundry when needed, ensure that resident’s rooms are neat and hallways are always free of obstacles and other safety hazards.nnAnswer phones in courteous and professional manner. Take accurate and complete messages, relay messages to residents in prompt and accurate manner. Perform other duties as necessary.nnWorking ConditionsnnAbility to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This position requires employee to be vaccinated from Covid-19.nnMinimum QualificationsnnHigh School education or the equivalent.nnCalifornia Home Health Aid or Nursing Attendant Certification.nnBasic information on blood borne infection and universal precautions including the use of protective devices.nnMust pass criminal background checknnBCLS and Red Cross CertificationnnBilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.nnSkills, Knowledge & AbilitiesnnKnowledge and sensitivity regarding issues of homelessness and/or HIV/AIDSnnBasic knowledge of the care needs of HIV individuals.nnAbility to work with diverse populations in a caring, sensitive, and non-judgmental manner.nnCPR/First Aid CertificationnnQualificationsnnExperiencennRequirednnKnowledge and sensitivity regarding issues of homelessness and/or HIV/AIDSnnBasic knowledge of the care needs of HIV individuals.nnBCLS and Red Cross CertificationnnBilingual (English/Spanish) is preferrednnCalifornia Home Health Aid or Nursing Attendant Certification.nnEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesnnThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
