Position Summary

The Merchandise Planner will play a pivotal role in driving sales and profitability by developing and executing merchandise strategies. This individual will be responsible for planning, forecasting, and managing inventory levels to ensure optimal product assortment and availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Merchandise Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive merchandise plans that align with overall business objectives, including sales targets, inventory levels, and profitability goals.
• Demand Forecasting: Utilize historical sales data, market trends, and competitive analysis to accurately forecast demand for product categories and styles.
• Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover, minimize markdowns, and ensure adequate product availability.
• Assortment Planning: Develop optimal product assortments based on customer preferences, market trends, and seasonal demands.
• Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable terms, ensure timely deliveries, and manage quality control.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and profitability to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on merchandise performance, inventory levels, and sales forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning within the fashion retail industry.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
• Knowledge of retail math and inventory management principles.
• Passion for fashion and a keen eye for trends.
