CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) Search has been retained by Optima Machinery Corporation for their Pharma Division to identify a Training Specialist to serve their team. With locations and customers all over the world, Optima Machinery Corporation designs and builds packaging and filling machines including complete production lines for pharmaceutical, consumer, nonwovens and life science products.
The Training Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the competencies of individual employees. Designing and conducting training programs significantly boost employees’ workplace performance in alignment with the company’s core values. The Training Specialist performs training needs assessments, designs and delivers curriculum and learning materials, and manages all phases of training interventions.
This position operates in a hybrid model, blending professional office settings with home office environments. The role requires customer on-site visits, which may occasionally involve entering clean room environments. The travel requirement is estimated to be between 50% and 70% during weekdays, with some initial weekend travel necessary for training purposes. You will be expected to travel extensively throughout North America and periodically to OPTIMA's headquarters in Germany.

What You’ll Do:
Training Program Development:
- Conduct training needs assessments.
- Develop and implement training programs.
- Create and maintain training materials.
Training Delivery:
- Conduct training sessions (in-person, virtual, hybrid).
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and individual sessions.
- Use adult learning methodologies.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop evaluation processes.
- Gather feedback and improve training.
- Monitor and report on training outcomes.
Collaboration:
- Work with managers to identify and schedule training.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts.
- Liaise with external training providers.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain training records and track progress.
- Manage the training budget.
- Stay updated with industry trends.
Other Duties:
- Participate in special projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of training processes.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or equivalent are desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a training role, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of GMP, FDA regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficient in life science manufacturing processes in biotech, aseptic processing, aseptic fill/finish, OSD, Gene Therapy, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in using e-learning platforms and software.
- Ability to design and implement practical training and development programs.
- Knowledge of various training and teaching methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
