The Opportunity:
A leading global travel tech company is seeking a skilled and motivated generalist lawyer to join its team as Regional Counsel for North America. This role will report directly to the Head of Legal for The Americas and will primarily support operations across North America. The position encompasses a diverse and cross-functional range of legal work, including commercial, intellectual property, regulatory, litigation, product, and tax matters. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach to legal counsel and will be based in the company’s New York City office, with a hybrid model encouraging at least two days in-office weekly.
In this Role, You’ll Get To:
- Provide support for various regional legal matters and special projects in connection with the North America Accommodations business.
- Take charge of drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on agreements related to distribution, supply, software services, vendors, and technology/licensing/development.
- Offer strategic business and legal advice on US-specific litigation and regulatory matters, coordinating with both the parent company and cross-brand counsel.
- Manage and resolve legal escalations from customer and/or business partner engagements.
- Work directly with the Head of Legal, the New York-based Legal team, the global Legal team, cross-brand counsel, external counsel, and internal business stakeholders.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Good standing admission to at least one State Bar (New York preferred).
- A minimum of six years’ relevant generalist or diversified legal experience at a top-tier law firm and within a global company’s in-house legal team.
- Preferred experience within the travel, hospitality, or tech industries as in-house counsel.
