- Address employee inquiries about PTO, payroll, health benefits, and more.
- Handle weekly payroll processing for 150 permanent and 80 temporary employees.
- Track attendance and issue written warnings as needed.
- Oversee and manage the employee benefits program, including open enrollment.
- Create and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Keep the employee handbook updated with federal, state, and local laws.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation and FMLA claims.
- Respond to unemployment claims and inquiries.
- Maintain OSHA records and handled annual reporting.
- Manage employee counseling and disciplinary actions, including terminations.
- Prepare new hire packets and conduct orientations.
- Provide employment verifications and respond to third-party information requests.
- Conduct training sessions for employees.
- Process PTO requests and track accrued and used days based on anniversary dates.
- Review and update job descriptions as needed.
- Handle 401k enrollment and changes.
- Assist with recruitment by posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Maintain confidential physical and electronic employee records.
- Coordinate with the Anniversary Awards vendor for certificates and catalogs and purchase certificate frames.
- Purchase and mail birthday cards in both English and Spanish.
- Plan and organize various employee social events throughout the year.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field with at least 3 years of HR experience, or a high school diploma with over 5 years of HR experience.
- Experience in Payroll, Benefits Administration, and Workers’ Compensation.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
